My next jewelry sale – Feb. 6 & 7, 11AM-4PM – My Just Desserts, Alton, IL, downtown at 31 E. Broadway – millifiori hearts, dichroic glass dainties, soft pinks and burning red sets – for anyone you love, and anyone who loves art, glass, and affordable jewelry – plus “Best Pies on the River Road!”.
This neat lady – another glass fuser – the Designing Diva, AKA Randi Sue – is GIVING AWAY some of her lovely jewelry – as prizes in her contest where you write a bit about giving back to the community and are entered in a drawing – let’s celebrate giving, and sharing, what makes the holidays mean more, much more than just commercialized clap-trap! Even the Grinch knows, “Christmas means just a little bit more than something that comes from a store…”
I am so pleased – I decided to “make art to make a difference” – so when I do well at a sale, I donate some of the proceeds to a charity – give back a little. Ever since I took this approach, my jewelry sales have been going well – and I will be able to help some deserving folks, including kids, have a merrier Christmas – AND I get to keep honing my art, learning my craft, and honoring the Muse – JOY!
Today’s edition of The Alton Telegraph had a nice article on the front of their Accent section about the Green Gift Bazaar, where I will be showing/selling my handmade glass jewelry & gift items:
Shop Local – Shop Green – Shop Handmade – Shop Earth-Friendly!
I will be doing a show this weekend at a very nice place, the historic Hawken House in Webster Groves. You can come, shop, and walk through this lovely home, that will be decorated in a Victorian Christmas style…
