On the eighth day of Christmas…

my true love gave to me –

a compliment on one of my recent creations – a gold choker and some beads and a piece of fused dichroic glass, golds and deep teal and bronzes on a china red base – quite festive-looking, without being traditional Christmas jewelry…and even 3-D…

When I made the necklace – I started out to do one thing, but this piece wanted to go its own way, so I just went with the flow, and got the heck out of the Muse’s way – it’s the wise choice!

The photo doesn’t do it justice.  Available for sale, with matching crystal earrings, $35 plus S/H.

On the 7th day of Christmas…

my true love gave to me…

a “Peace on Earth” necklace, made from a rhinestone peace sign and a silver & gold-plate globe* –

*Vintage jewelry gifted to me by my 84-year old friend, who wanted me to re-use his late wife’s old costume jewelry in my art – thanks, Jimmy and Helen

Do Something Special!

Long before I started doing glass and making jewelry, I was a writer. I still am.

And I do love a story, writing them, reading them, hearing them. One of the great things about selling art glass jewelry is meeting the wonderful people who are interested in my work and buy it as a gift for someone special.  At Christmas, a granddaughter bought a butterfly pendant for her grandmother, whose nickname is “Butterfly”. Often a boyfriend buys something his girlfriend picks out, or a husband tells his wife, “Go ahead – treat yourself”, or a mother buys for her daughter, or a friend for another friend. I enjoy seeing the faces light up, the buyer’s joy at finding something “just right” for someone special to them.

On Feb. 5 & 6, 11 to 3, I will be having a “Valentines’s Day Love Story” sale of my art glass jewelry at My Just Desserts, 31. E. Broadway, Alton, Illinois, a lovely place to have a delicious lunch, see the river from the windows, stop on your way to eagle-watch, and have a slice of homemade pie, truly the “Best Pie on the River Road!” http://myjustdesserts.org/

I hope you stop by and take a look at my handmade, locally crafted dichroic glass jewelry. Maybe you will find something special for someone you love, or for yourself. If you do, I hope you’ll share your story with me – because I do love a story!

And while you are there, you might want to order a Red Velvet Cheesecake for Valentine’s Day (pictured above).  It’s sure to be a big hit! (I bought the My Just Desserts Red Velvet Cup Cakes last year – you won’t be sorry!)

‘Tis the Season!

I had such a lovely time here last year – a delightful way to usher in the holiday season & re-visit my former home town of Webster Groves, Missouri – this event puts you in the right mood for holiday celebrating and shopping.  I will be there with my glass jewelry & small dishes and my friend Tabitha, the Knitting Journeyman, will be there with her handmade treasures too…Buy local – buy handmade – give art from the heart!

Love Is All We Need
